Job 14:14 | 2 Corinthians 3:18
Each new year reminds us that we need to change. Glorious change is the transformation that occurs in us by the Spirit of God and His glory.
If you want to experience this type of change, you need to let go and let the Spirit of God have His way in your life. This year, determine within yourself to release your inhibitions and let the Spirit take you from glory to glory. “Letting go,” is the process of throwing off the natural and spiriutal weights that prohibit you from going higher in God.
Lasting change requires that we embrace the fact that there are areas of our life that need to change. In reality, nothing changes if nothing changes. You cannot do the same things this year that you did last year and expect a different outcome.
Don’t get stuck in a rut! God has new things for you! There may be Satanic attacks on your thoughts that suggest that you cannot change, but the bible offers us a differnt perspective. When a Jewish ruler named Nicodemus approached Jesus about the path toward Kingdom living, Jesus instructed him that he must be born again. (John 3:7) In other words, Jesus was plainly stating, if you want to go deeper in God, you must change. In fact, the entire bible is a story of change! Line upon line, God interrupts the lives of men and women to redeem them and restore them from a fallen and sinful state.
The type of change that Jesus referenced was more than a superficial change based on outward circumstances. Jesus wants us to change our attitudes and our character.
Change requires you to engage your will to determine within yourself that your life is going to change. You’ve got to want change more than anything else. You must expect to be different than what you are.
Are you embracing change this year? If you are, be patient with yourself, trust God and His process. The Spirt of the Lord is available to teach you and lead you into all truth. You don’t have to wish to be different, you CAN be different.
There is another glory!
